Step one: you call, a real person answers

A load-in at a venue off State Street runs different from a race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. We want the details up front so we send the right crew, not a warm body.

Tell us the count, the trade, the call time, and the wrap time. If you need six setup hands at 6 a.m. and four ushers at noon, say so. We would rather plan the whole day than patch it in pieces.

Step two: we match the trade to the task

Event work is not one job. It is several, and each one needs the right hands.

• Setup crews: unloading trucks, staging chairs and tables, building stages and tents, running pipe and drape, hauling gear from the dock to the floor.

Step three: pre-screened, W-2, and covered

Every worker we send is a pre-screened W-2 employee of Appalachian Labor. That is not paperwork trivia. It matters to you.

When a crew is W-2, we carry the workers' comp and we handle the payroll taxes. You are not misclassifying a 1099 contractor and you are not the one on the hook if someone gets hurt loading a truck. You get a crew, we carry the burden that comes with them. That is the deal. Ask any staffing outfit whether their event hands are W-2 or 1099 before you sign anything, because the answer changes who owns the risk.

Step four: same-day and next-morning dispatch

Events do not always give you two weeks notice. A vendor cancels, ticket sales spike, or a headliner adds a second night. When that happens you need hands now, not next week. We dispatch same-day when we have the crew staged and next-morning for a 6 a.m. load-in you call in the night before. We will tell you straight what we can hit. If we cannot get eight setup hands there by 7, we will tell you what we can do by 9, and we will not pretend otherwise to win the booking.

Step five: we do not quit till it is filled

A gap on your event floor is our problem, not yours. If a worker no-shows, we work the replacement while the show goes on. You booked a crew count, and holding that count is our job from the first call to the last truck out.
